“Burn the boats” is an idiom that means to commit to a path or goal without the option of turning back! It’s a mindset that encourages people to remove all safety nets and eliminate any possibility of retreat. Success requires a deep commitment, so much so that failure is no longer an option!
Battle River Shock is a midget football club based out of Camrose, Alberta. We are a proud member of the CDMFA (Capital District Minor Football Association). The majority of our practices are held in Lacombe, Alberta. Our team is not meant to replace the fall programs, rather we’re here to compliment them. Our goal is to develop young football athletes in Central Alberta.
Our team is made up of athletes currently in grades 9 to 11 from the Battle River School District and beyond. We welcome those who live along the Battle River i.e.: from communities such as Rocky Mountain House, Sylvan Lake, Pigeon Lake, Wetaskiwin, Blackfalds, Maskwacis, Lacombe, Ponoka, Gwynne, Leduc, Hay Lakes, Camrose, Round Hill, Halkirk, Stettler, Bawlf, New Norway, Viking, Sedgewick, Blackfalds, Sylvan Lake and Red Deer.

2026 SHOCK SEASON COMING UP!!!!
The combine/ID camp kicks off on Saturday January 24th.
Open to all athletes currently in grades 9 to 11.
Cost for the tryouts is $250.

Doors open at 5:30pm, Dinner is at 6:30pm, Program is at 7;30pm
Tickets are $40 presale, And $50 at the door.

Double Practice Day, Parent Meeting March 16/2025
At LAPA , Shock practice from 1:00 to 3;00pm a break
then practice again from 4:00 to 6:00pm . there will be
a parent meeting in the upper room at 2:45 pm .
